A Brief Indian Cricket History
Cricket came to Indian with the arrival of britishers to India, in earlier days Rajas and Maharajas(Kings ) used to play this game later it became popular with the Indian soldiers ( sipois ) in early 1900 s Indians like Ranjitsinhji and KS Duleepsinhji were slected in english cricket team and they were widely accepted for the batting skills throughout the cricketing world. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) starts itz operations on 1929 and it represents India with the International Cricket Council.India got the test paying status on 1932 led by CK Nayudu
After after attaining independence from British rule Indians fist cricket tour was to Australia ( 1948) in which India lost the series 4-0. India have to wait for next 4 years to register their
first ever cricketing victory as an independent nation on 1952 against england on Madaras later in the same year they also beat Pakistan, Indias first test series victory was against Newzeland.
Introdution of one day international cricket (ODI) chnaged the cricket for ever, India was a weak team in ODIs but the year 1983 changed indian cricket for ever by registering the 1st ever worl cup victory.
